  • What is wealth?

As expressed in the Vow, I see wealth as anything that brings us closer to what is True, Good and Beautiful.

In the common language wealth is used for someone who has lot's of money. This shows a confusion between the means and the goal. Although money lets you access certain forms of material wealth, it is not wealth itself. Money is a means, not a goal. The goal, wealth, is a wide array of things that you acknowledge as wealth. It is crucial material needs such as food, health, a shelter, clothing, education... that are for the most part – and this is sad – only accessible through money. Wealth is also those very intangible things such as health, care, trust, friendship, family, self-esteem, joy, humor, listening... many things that money will never buy. No matter whether we talk about shelter for a decent life, the beauty of a flower or the health of our child, wealth always comes as an expression of what is True, Good and Beautiful.
